Italian VCC-2 tracked armored personnel carriers entered service with the newly formed Donechina special forces battalion of the National Police of Ukraine.
This was noticed by Andrei Tarasenko, a researcher of the history of armored vehicles.
The VCC-2 is an Italian variation of the American M113A1 tracked armored personnel carrier, featuring additional 6 mm protection on the sides.
In addition, on each side of the Italian armored personnel carrier there are two embrasures and two windows made of armored glass.
Additionally, the VСC-2 can be identified by its open machine gun turret. It is known that the Italians converted from 1160 to 1200 M113A1 armored personnel carriers into VCC-2.
The Donechina battalion is a newly formed and rifle battalion.
All volunteers have experience of working under bombing, and some have been in combat since 2014.
