On the occasion of Holodomor Remembrance Day, the American president promised additional support for Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden issued a statement in connection with honoring the victims of the Holodomor, in which he promised Ukraine additional support from Washington. This was reported by the White House press service on Saturday, November 23.
Biden recalled the Holodomor as a deliberate famine perpetrated by the Soviet regime that killed millions of Ukrainians.
“We remember the men, women and children who died during the Holodomor. We also honor its survivors and their descendants, who, despite Stalin’s attempts to suppress the national identity of Ukrainians, built a free, independent, democratic Ukraine. Today, marking the official anniversary of the Holodomor, we reaffirm our readiness to stand with the Ukrainian people at a time when they need our help,” said the President of the US.
Biden continued with a reminder that Russia has been waging a war of conquest against Ukraine for three years, hoping to wipe it off the map.
“Russia failed here Kyiv is free, thanks to the United States and more than 50 countries that have decided to provide Ukraine with the necessary assistance… Today, we reaffirm our commitment to continue to support the defense of Ukraine, its freedom, its pursuit of justice and its choice for itself the path to the Euro-Atlantic future.
