The former president, who had previously threatened the West with nuclear war and the “end of civilization,” suddenly changed his rhetoric.
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, who has previously repeatedly threatened the West with nuclear weapons, unexpectedly changed his rhetoric. In an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, he said that Russia does not want to start a nuclear war. The Moscow Times reported this on Friday, November 22.
“We really hate for this to happen. There are no crazy people in the Russian leadership,” he said.
Medvedev also emphasized that Moscow considers the use of nuclear weapons as a “last resort,” noting that the threshold for their use has been changed taking into account “dangers that have arisen.” At the same time, he complained about NATO, which, according to him, is “totally involved” in the Ukrainian conflict. The war could end, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council said, but the alliance had to “stop inciting” the conflict, he added.
As is known, with the outbreak of a large-scale war in Ukraine, Medvedev became one of the main speakers of the Kremlin’s aggressive rhetoric, repeatedly threatening the West with nuclear war and the end of civilization.
Let’s remember the other day, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that the Kremlin considers itself entitled to use weapons against the targets of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russian targets .
