North Korea’s leader called for the development and modernization of weapons to become modern weapons and promised to continue to improve defense capabilities.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un accused the United States of increasing tensions and provocations. He said this at the opening ceremony of a weapons exhibition in Pyongyang, Reuters reported citing North Korean state media.
“Never before have the conflicting parties on the Korean Peninsula had such a dangerous and intense confrontation that at any moment it could escalate into the most destructive thermonuclear war,” Kim said.
He called for the development and upgrading of modern weapons and promised to continuously improve defense capabilities to strengthen the country’s strategic position.
As you know, in 2018 and 2019, during their first presidency, Donald Trump and Kim held three unprecedented meetings in Singapore, Hanoi and on the DPRK’s border with South Korea. However, their diplomacy has achieved little because of the deep differences between Washington’s calls for Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons and Kim’s demands to ease sanctions.
So far the North Korean state media has not mentioned Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.
Let’s remember that the United States is ready to increase and modernize its nuclear arsenal to maintain its deterrence potential.
