“We are deeply concerned by the prosecutor’s haste to obtain arrest warrants and the disturbing procedural errors that led to this decision,” the source explained.
The US believes the ICC “has no jurisdiction over this case” because Israel is not a member of the court.
The United States is currently discussing next steps with partners, including Israel.
At the same time, a representative of the British government expressed respect for the ICC’s independence.
