Estonia will provide aid – 0.25% of its GDP – for the period 2024-2027, and Ukraine will share combat know-how.
Ukraine and Estonia are strengthening their defense cooperation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 20. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
The document is a continuation of the security cooperation agreement concluded in June 2024 by Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Estonia will provide aid to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of its GDP for the period 2024-2027.
The Memorandum also talks about funding an IT coalition led by Estonia, which aims to digitize and modernize defense processes, and conduct training for Ukrainian military personnel.
Ukraine will share combat know-how gained while defending against Russian aggression to strengthen the defense capabilities of Estonia and other partner countries.
We remind you that the government of Estonia supported the proposal of Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur to send Ukraine another package of military aid, which this time included the same equipment and ammunition.
Earlier it was reported that Estonia planned to change the structure of military aid to Ukraine, focusing it on the products of Estonian enterprises.
