In Khmelnitsky, a speeding car crashed into a public transport stop, killing at least three people. This was reported by the head of the communication sector of the main department of the National Police in the Khmelnytsky region, Inna Glega.
The accident occurred this morning, November 18, at the intersection of Zarechanskaya and Pobeda streets. There was a public transport that stopped there, and that’s where the car entered. Preliminarily, two other vehicles were damaged.
“The driver of a BMW X6, moving along Zarechanskaya Street, collided with Skoda Octavia and Mazda cars, after which he drove into a public transport stop,” said Glega.
As a result of the accident, three women (60, 56 and 53 years old) who were standing at the bus stop died of their injuries.
According to preliminary data, the driver was driving with signs of intoxication. The police detained him on the spot.
An investigation team is working in the area to clarify all the circumstances. Traffic from Pobeda to Svoboda is currently blocked.
