Poland has decided to close the Russian consulate in the city of Poznan in response to the deterioration of relations between the two countries and the worsening situation in the region.

In Poznan, at the request of Warsaw, the Russian Consulate General will be closed, and a Ukrainian consulate may appear in its place. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on Saturday, November 16, RFM24 reports.

He noted that if Ukraine applies to use the building, which will be vacated by the Russians, to open its own consulate in this city, then Warsaw will be in favor of it.

Sikorsky explained that due to the rapid increase in the number of Ukrainians in Poland, currently there are not enough institutions in the country that meet the needs.
