The defenders of Ukraine will be given food according to the standards of military medical institutions of NATO countries, even in civilian hospitals.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has introduced important changes in the system of providing military personnel during treatment and rehabilitation. The press service of the department reported this on Saturday, November 16.
Currently, the mechanism for providing improved nutrition to military personnel in health institutions of all forms of ownership has been improved.
The order approved by the government makes it possible to provide food to defenders according to the standards of military medical institutions of NATO countries, even in civilian hospitals.
“Every defender who puts their life on the line for our freedom deserves the best recovery. response to their sacrifice and bravery,” said Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Sergei Melnik.
According to the new standards, food in civilian hospitals for military personnel will be based on a specially developed diet, which, in particular, specifies the list of products, their quantity and weight required for a military personnel per day, taking into account the specific needs of the body during recovery.
“The new standards provide adequate nutrition necessary for the rapid restoration of health. For example, they take into account the increased need for proteins, vitamins and calories necessary for the treatment of injuries or diseases. cost of such nutrition is calculated based on a special Product Catalog approved by the Ministry of Defense,” – explained Melnik.
The government order also provides a clear mechanism for reimbursing costs to civilian medical institutions, which will help maintain high service standards.
The new financing mechanism involves the conclusion of a standard contract that provides clear compensation for the costs of improved nutrition. Yes, civilian medical institutions will receive proper funding.
