Police seized more than 60 guns, including 43 rifles with Nazi eagles, 15 pistols, five bayonets and a machine gun.
Argentine police arrested a man in Buenos Aires who was in possession of a large number of Nazi weapons emblazoned with symbols of the Third Reich from the time of Adolf Hitler. Reuters reported this yesterday.
In total, police seized more than 60 guns from the man’s home, including 43 rifles with Nazi eagles, 15 pistols, five bayonets and a machine gun.
Nazi flags, military uniforms and busts of Hitler were also confiscated.
Police are said to have tracked the man after he went abroad and became the subject of an investigation initiated by Bosnia and Herzegovina law enforcement officials.
The agency recalls that after World War II, many Nazi officials, including the notorious “Holocaust architect” Adolf Eichmann, moved to Argentina to avoid trials for war crimes.
Earlier, a shipment of cocaine with swastikas on the packages was seized from Peru. The drugs were hidden in a cargo container containing asparagus on the Liberian-flagged vessel SC Anisha R, which stopped at a port in Ecuador. The shipment is bound for Belgium.
