The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted that thanks to the support of Japan, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has more than 600 units of equipment for mine clearance.
Ukraine’s Interior Minister Igor Klymenko said he met with Japan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome.
They discussed issues of security, rehabilitation of wounded soldiers and protection of the state border.
Klimenko thanked the embassy for the long and fruitful cooperation.
“Japan is one of the most reliable partners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system,” the minister said.
According to him, thanks to Japanese support, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has more than 600 units of mine clearance equipment.
“Every third vehicle that uses the State Emergency Service is provided by Japan,” Klimenko clarified.
He added that the police have received 26 mobile crime labs and 12 ANDE DNA labs. All this equipment works in front-line areas.
Let’s recall that last year Japan transferred vehicles and special equipment for mine clearance to Ukraine.
It was also reported that Japan will allocate more than $3 billion as part of a loan from the G7 states to Ukraine in the amount of $50 billion, which will be repaid from the fixed assets of the Russian Central Bank.
