American destroyers Stockdale and Spruance, along with aircraft, destroyed several Houthi launch sites.
The US military has carried out a series of airstrikes on Houthi weapons depots in Yemen in response to their attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.
It is indicated that the strikes were carried out on Saturday and Sunday – November 9 and 10.
So, the military released a video of an MQ-9 Reaper drone hitting a mobile missile launcher mounted on the back of a truck. The footage shows a person standing next to the launcher running away after impact.
According to the US military, the operation was a response to “repeated unlawful Houthi attacks on international commercial shipping, as well as US, coalition and merchant vessels in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb and Gulf of Aden.”
“It also aims to mitigate the Houthi threat to regional partners,” CENTCOM added.
In addition, the American destroyers Stockdale and Spruance, along with aircraft, destroyed several Houthi launch pads while passing through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
In particular, eight single-action unmanned aerial systems, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and four anti-ship cruise missiles used by the Houthis against merchant ships were discovered and destroyed.
No American personnel were injured in the operation, CENTCOM assured.
