Due to difficult weather conditions – heavy rains with accumulation of wet snow – 43 settlements in the Poltava region are without power.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine remains at a high level. Due to bad weather, there were power outages in the Poltava region, Ukrenergo reported on Thursday, November 14.
It is indicated that in the morning the level of consumption was 1.2% higher than at the same time of the previous day – on Wednesday, November 13. Yesterday, the daily maximum consumption was 2.4% lower than the previous day of work – Tuesday, November 12. The company explained this by using measures to limit capacity for industry and business.
“During the hours of maximum consumption in the morning and evening, there remains a large shortage of electricity in the energy system. Please save electricity consumption throughout the day. 00,” the message said.
At the same time, due to difficult weather conditions – heavy rain with accumulation of wet snow – in the morning, 43 settlements in the Poltava region were without power. Forecasters predict heavy snowfalls by the end of the day in other regions of Ukraine.
Today, Ukraine imports electricity from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova with a total volume of 3039 MWh, with a peak power of up to 217 MW at certain times.
We remind you that on the morning of November 13, blackouts were introduced for businesses in Ukraine. The reason for such actions was cited by the energy sector as a reduction in shunting generation capacity and a significant reduction in the amount of electricity imports. The restrictions are in effect until the evening.
And on November 11, emergency blackouts were used in some regions of Ukraine due to the threat of a missile attack. The Russians scrambled the bombers, but no missile launch took place.
