Scholz confirmed that the sixth of the planned IRIS-T air defense systems will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said he spoke on the phone with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“I thanked him for the large-scale bilateral defense assistance to Germany and for its leadership in consolidating the efforts of partners to support Ukraine,” the head of state said.
According to Zelensky, Scholz confirmed that the sixth of the planned IRIS-T air defense systems will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.
“We also discussed air defense supplies next year and the prospects for additional air defense assistance from Germany. We arranged the measures necessary to ensure the best defense and political support for Ukraine meeting of Coordination Group In addition, we emphasized the need to present Ukraine’s vision for a just and lasting peace at the G20 summit in Brazil and thanked Germany for its willingness to support us here,” the president said.
