COVID-19 remains extremely dangerous for people who have not received vaccinations, high-risk groups, and patients with underlying health conditions who have not received booster vaccinations.
During the week from November 4 to November 10, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and COVID-19 increased by 3.8% nationwide, and COVID-19 caused one death. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, November 13.
A total of 115,137 people fell ill, almost half of them were children – 66,274 In particular, 815 Ukrainians fell ill with COVID-19, 236 of them (mainly, 33 children) were hospitalized. Doctors also reported one death as a result of complications of COVID-19.
The department recalled that annual vaccination, including for people at risk, is the most effective prevention of COVID-19 and influenza.
“Covid-19 remains extremely dangerous for people who have not received any vaccination, risk groups and patients with similar diseases who have not received revaccination. Vaccination is free and available in the country’s medical institutions in each region,” said the Deputy Minister, Chief State Sanitary. Doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin.
Although the flu vaccine is not included in the list of free vaccinations, it is recommended and available by prescription at pharmacies.
The Ministry of Health added that on November 10, 75,317 people received flu shots.
We remind you that Kuzin recently said that by the end of the year the incidence of COVID-19 will decrease, the highest incidence of influenza and ARVI will occur in the winter months.
