Russia will work to develop a final document at the summit, which takes into account the “multipolar reality of the modern world,” Moscow said.
The Russian delegation to the G20 leaders’ summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will be led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, not dictator Vladimir Putin. This was announced by Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Marat Berdyev on Tuesday, November 12.
“The Russian delegation to this event, on behalf of… VV Putin, will be headed by Foreign Minister SV
According to Berdyev, at the summit Russia will seek to draft a final document that takes into account the “multipolar realities of the modern world” and will demand the “reform of international institutions with the strengthening of the role of most countries in the world in their decision-making mechanisms .”
Earlier, Vladimir Putin confirmed that he will not go to Brazil for the G20 summit, which will take place on November 18-19. He explained this decision by allegedly not wanting to “disrupt the normal functioning of this forum.”
As you know, on March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin and Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova. They are accused of illegally deporting thousands of children from Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said that his country, despite ratifying the Rome Statute and obligations to comply with ICC decisions, does not intend to arrest Putin if he visits the G20 summit.
Putin also previously traveled to Mongolia, although this country is also a party to the Rome Statute of the ICC.
