By the end of this year, France will deliver 600 AASM Hammer precision-guided bombs to Ukraine.
This was reported by Militarny with reference to the Defense Committee of the French National Assembly.
The AASM Armament Air-Sol Modulaire converts 250 kg and 1000 kg aerial bombs into guided munitions flying at a distance of up to 70 km. Air bombs will be taken from warehouses, and not from new production.
France also intends to produce 1,200 AASM Hammer guided bombs in 2025. In 2024, the country’s defense industry was supposed to produce 600 of these adjustable aerial bombs.
In Ukraine, these aerial bombs were integrated into Soviet MiG-29 fighters. They are also being integrated with F-16 aircraft.
But engineers will likely have less work to do in the future. France plans to transfer Mirage 2000-model fighters to Ukraine
