The reason is the downing of Russian drones on the territory of Moldova and Russian interference in the elections.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova presented the Ambassador of Russia in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, with a note of protest over Russia’s interference in the elections and two Russian drones, the wreckage of which was recently found in the country. NewsMaker reported this on Tuesday, November 12th.
The Foreign Ministry said it strongly condemned the violation of Moldovan airspace on November 10.
“Two Russian drones were spotted on the territory of Moldova. Competent institutions of our country have information that these drones were actually launched from Russia,” the diplomats said.
The department emphasized that such aggressive interventions are “a serious violation and an unfriendly gesture on the part of the Russian Federation” and endanger the lives of civilians.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed objection to the Russian diplomat against Russia’s illegal interference in elections and referendums in Moldova with the aim of distorting their results, weakening and delegitimizing the democratic process in Moldova.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly called on the Russian authorities to immediately stop these actions and avoid in the future any interference in the internal affairs of Moldova,” the department said.
We remind you that on November 10, two Russian drones crashed on the territory of Moldova, violating the country’s airspace.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Russian decoy drones crashed in Moldova. They have no warhead and are smaller and cheaper than the Shahed-136.
