A bail was imposed by a legal entity for the former deputy chairman of the board of PJSC CB Privatbank, who twice failed to appear in court hearings.
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) recovered UAH 5 million in bail from the former deputy chairman of the board of Privatbank, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported on November 11.
It was noted that the bail paid by a legal entity for the former deputy chairman of the board of PJSC CB Privatbank, who twice failed to appear in court hearings, has been revoked.
The court found the reasons for the defendant’s failure to appear unreasonable and, taking into account the improper conduct in the procedure, decided to increase the amount of bail referred to as a preventive measure to UAH 51 million.
The court also imposed on the accused the corresponding procedural duties, i.e., to come to each request of the court, not to leave the Dnepropetrovsk region without permission, to report a change in his place of residence and place of work, to refrain the conversation. together with other defendants in the case and deposit with the relevant bodies of the State Migration Service all your passports of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad, other documents with the right to leave Ukraine and enter Ukraine.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for November 22.
SAPS recalled that the former chairman of the board of PJSC CB Privatbank, his first deputy, deputy, as well as three heads of departments of the said bank in December 2016, one day before PJSC CB Privatbank was declared insolvent based on false documents, paid about UAH 223 million at the bank’s expense to the benefit of companies controlled and associated with PJSC CB Privatbank.
The funds were transferred in several tranches to two different companies: UAH 85.2 million to the account of one company related to the scheme participants, and another UAH 136.8 million to another. Subsequently, scheme participants took these funds abroad for legalization purposes.
It was also established that on the eve of the bank’s nationalization, these people embezzled more than UAH 8.2 billion by illegally discharging the obligations of non-resident companies to AS Privatbank (Latvia) at the expense of Privatbank’s funds placed in correspondence accounts. with AS Privatbank (Latvia). In addition, for the further impossibility of collecting funds in favor of PJSC CB Privatbank and to cover up the crime committed, an illegal and undocumented transfer of the debtor to a company controlled and related to PJSC CB Privatbank was arranged.
Remind you that the Northern Economic Court of Appeal of the city of Kyiv closed the proceedings on the claims of the former shareholders of Privatbank Igor Kolomoisky and the Cyprus company Triantal Investments Ltd and confirmed the impossibility of the return of Privatbank to the its former owner.
It was also reported that the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) placed on the wanted list the former co-owner of Privatbank, Gennady Bogolyubov, who left the country using the passport of a pensioner from Volyn. Bogolyubov was accused of theft, embezzlement, extortion of documents, seals, seals, as well as illegal movement of people across the state border of Ukraine.
