The country leads all international partners in terms of the amount of aid given to Ukraine in relation to GDP.
Poland, since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022, has been the leader among allies in the amount of military and humanitarian aid given to Ukraine in relation to its GDP. It was announced on Saturday, November 9, on the website of the President of Poland.
The total value of Warsaw’s aid to Kyiv is 3.23 billion euros, which is 4.91% of Polish GDP. Of this amount, 0.71% was spent on supporting Ukraine, and 4.2% on helping Ukrainian refugees.
Thus, Poland is ahead of Estonia, which until now is the leader in the amount of aid from GDP.
It is indicated that Poland has become the leading supplier of heavy equipment for Ukraine. It transferred more than 1,000 units of equipment, including 350 of the nearly 800 tanks that arrived in Ukraine were provided by Poland.
“These deliveries far exceed assistance from other major allies such as the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Spain. In particular, Poland sent 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks, 60 PT-91 tanks , as well as 280 units of older T72 equipment.
Also, the Ukrainian air force received 14 MiG-29 aircraft and 12 Mi-24 helicopters from Poland.
In addition, Poland donated dozens of reconnaissance drones, hundreds of kamikaze drones, anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems, as well as more than 100 million different types of ammunition and 20,000 Starlinks kits
The report also states that approximately 980,000 Ukrainians now live in Poland. In 2022, 1.13 billion euros were spent on their maintenance, and in 2023 – 580 million euros.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky said that Poland did not transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine, despite a preliminary agreement. Also, the Polish side does not shoot down Russian missiles on its own.
