“There is no limit to the cynicism and brutality of the occupiers when the Russians shot a presumably injured unarmed Ukrainian soldier. They recorded it in a video distributed online,” he wrote.
The Ombudsman added that he sent a letter to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN.
“This is a violation of the Geneva Conventions, international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war. If you do not respond to this, crimes that go unpunished will always return,” said Lubinets.
Let us remind you that in the Donetsk region two more cases of murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war during the surrender were registered. These events took place on October 23 in the eastern part of the city of Selidovo, when three prisoners of war were killed, and on November 1 near the village of Vishnevoye of the Selidov Territory, when three more prisoners of war were shot of the conquerors. .
Law enforcement officials are investigating 49 criminal trials related to the killing of 124 prisoners of war on the battlefield.
