The European Union has extended the EU Military Mission in Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) for the next two years and allocated additional funds to support its activities. This was reported on the EU Council website on Friday, November 8.
It is indicated that the military mission will now operate until November 15, 2026, with a budget of approximately 409 million euros.
“So far, EUMAM Ukraine has trained 63 thousand soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, corresponding to the number of ten brigades. In the coming months, the mission will train an additional 15 thousand military personnel, bringing the total number of trained soldiers to 75 thousand. by the end of winter 2024/25,” the statement said.
We remind you that the EUMAM mission was created in October 2022 to help train Ukrainian military personnel. As part of the mission, exercises continue mainly in Poland and Germany.
It was also reported that the basic training of Ukrainian Armed Forces recruits was extended to six weeks.
