The use of dangerous chemicals by Russian aggressors has been systematic since February 2023.
Russian troops have used special chemical munitions 323 times in battles with the Ukrainian Defense Forces in October, and 4,613 times since the start of the large-scale offensive. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of October 2024, the radiation, chemical, and biological intelligence unit of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 323 such cases.
At the start of a large-scale invasion, radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance units directly record the use of hazardous chemicals on the battlefield.
The use of hazardous chemicals by the Russians has been systematic since February 2023. A total of 4,613 enemy uses of ammunition containing hazardous chemicals have been recorded.
“In doing so, the Russians are grossly violating the rules of war, ignoring the norms and obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons,” the General emphasized Staff.
As already written, in September, 250 cases of the Russians using special ammunition laced with dangerous chemicals against the Ukrainian military were recorded.
In addition, in August, Russian troops used chemical munitions 447 times against the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
