Trump’s claims to solve the “crisis in Ukraine” are “worthy of attention,” the Russian dictator said.
US President-elect Donald Trump’s statements about his intention to continue relations with Russia and resolve the “crisis in Ukraine” are “worthy of attention.” This is what Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on Thursday, November 7.
“Trump may be treated differently, but he is a brave man, his behavior during the assassination attempt proved it in his first term, Trump was afraid to take one more step, one more word on his second term is still unknown ,” said the head of the Kremlin.
The Russian leader also noted that Trump’s statements about his intention to continue relations with the Russian Federation and resolve the “crisis in Ukraine” (as Putin calls the war against Ukraine – ed.) are ” deserves attention.”
“But what has been said publicly so far… what has been said about the desire to continue relations with Russia, to help end the crisis in Ukraine, in my opinion, deserves attention at the very least,” said Putin.
The head of the Kremlin added that “if one of the politicians in the West wants to continue contacts, we have nothing against it, we will return it.”
Let’s remember that Putin publicly welcomed Trump’s election to the presidency of the United States and expressed his readiness to talk with him. Putin said he could have called Trump on the phone himself, but did not, allegedly because Western leaders stopped calling him.
Trump said he is not ruling out the possibility of continuing talks with Putin.
As you know, during the election campaign, Trump repeatedly promised to quickly end the war in Ukraine. He explained that he knows the leaders of Ukraine and Russia very well.
President Vladimir Zelensky believes that Trump wants a quick end to the war, but it could mean losses for Ukraine.
