On November 7, current US President Joe Biden addressed the nation for the first time since Kamala Harris’ defeat in the election.
The American leader emphasized that defeat does not mean that the Democrats managed to win. He also assured of a peaceful transfer of power to the election winner, Donald Trump. He noted that this is exactly what the Americans deserve. Biden’s statement is reported by CNN.
Yesterday, I spoke with President-elect Trump to welcome him to victory and assured him that I would direct my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. This is what the American people deserve,” he said.
The head of state emphasized the need to reduce tension in society. And he added that the American voting system is fair, transparent, and can be trusted, regardless of victory or loss.
In his speech, Biden supported Harris and noted that she made every possible effort during the election campaign.
The current president called his term “historic” and called for using each of the remaining 74 days of the presidency.
