The speeches of Orban and Macron were broadcast live and posted online, but Zelensky’s speech was not shown.
The speech of President Vladimir Zelensky was not shown in the official broadcast of the summit of the European Political Community in Budapest. Radio Liberty reported this on Thursday, November 7.
In the official program, Zelensky came second after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and before French President Emmanuel Macron.
Orban’s and Macron’s speeches were broadcast and posted separately online, but organizers did not broadcast or publish Zelensky’s speech.
A Hungarian representative of the event’s organizers said Zelensky’s speech was said to be “non-public,” but the video was passed on to his team.
Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities called this statement false.
“The president’s speeches are always public if it is given for the format of the event we have not made any requests not to broadcast or publicize the speech,” they said in a commentary on Radio Liberty.
We remind you that today Zelensky took part in the summit of the European Political Community in Budapest. This is the first visit of the President of Ukraine to Hungary since the beginning of a full-scale war.
In his speech, Zelensky said that Ukraine needs a sufficient number of weapons, not support in negotiations.
