In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, border guards of the Shibena department of the Chernivtsi detachment received information about the discovery of a human body by local residents near the Romanian border. The State Border Guard Service reported this on November 6.
The body lay in the forest for more than a month. Nearby, law enforcement officials found objects and documents, from which it was found that the body probably belonged to a citizen of Ukraine born in 1980, a resident of the Chernihiv region. The time and cause of death will be determined by autopsy.
The State Border Guard Service recalled that since the beginning of the Russian Federation’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 40 cases of death have been recorded on the western border while trying to illegally cross the state border.
