From November 1, 2024, by decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, the duration of mandatory basic combined arms training (BZIN) for recruits in training centers has been increased by one and a half times – from 30 to 45 days.
As Novinarnya writes, a representative of the Main Directorate of Doctrines and Training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about this in a comment to reporters on Tuesday, November 5.
As for the BZIN of Ukrainian military personnel abroad, it will be extended starting in January 2025.
According to an official of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since October of this year, a pilot project has been in operation, according to which about half a thousand recruits in four training centers underwent basic training at the rate of 45 days instead of 30. This experiment is still ongoing, but it is already obvious that its results will be positive. Consequently, the commander-in-chief decided to extend the BZIN from the beginning of November.
Thus, the total duration of the BZIN is increased by 78 hours.
In particular, another 33 hours were added to the fire training program, 6 hours for tactical training, 18 hours for complex tactical training, etc.
At the same time, mastery of collective weapons, countering hostile UAVs, and the basics of electronic warfare systems were added to basic training. Also, companies of unmanned systems are being introduced into training centers.
So, instead of 23 shooting exercises in the future there should be 45. And more than 300 more rounds of ammunition are added to the total shooting during the BZIN period (860+ rounds instead of 500).
No matter how difficult it is, we should move on to 45 days of preparation,” a GUDiP representative quoted the words of Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky.
