The operation of electronic warfare is displayed on gadgets, so during air raids your phone shows that you are in a completely different place, for example in Russia.
Electronic warfare influences satellite data to throw Russian drones off course. To do this, they use spoofing technology – replacing coordinates and simulating the point to which the drone needs to be returned.
The General Staff reported on November 5 that during air attacks by Russians there may be malfunctions in the operation of navigation systems and precise time systems on mobile phones. GPS spoofing is used to counter the enemy.
For example, for many Ukrainians, during an air raid on the night of November 5, the GPS location could change from Kyiv to Kursk or Mozyr.
A side effect of this effect is a disruption in the precise time system that mobile phones use to automatically update the time.
Taking this into account, it is advisable to disable the automatic time adjustment mode on the phone and take into account that when air raid warnings are announced, the accuracy of the satellite navigation systems may be disrupted, explained electronic warfare specialists at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
