Former employees of the Russian Ministry of Defense are accused of stealing real estate in Moscow worth more than 700 million rubles. This was reported by Sledkom of the Russian Federation, as reported by RosSMI and TG channels.
It was learned that the accused were the former chief Chief Director for the Organization of the Armies Nikolay Grachev, former bankruptcy trustee of OJSC Moscow Region Construction Department (owned by the Ministry of Defense) Alexey Astashkin, as well as two other citizens – Evgeny Potapov and businessman Sergey Ovchinnikov. They were charged with fraud on a large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code).
According to the Investigative Committee, in 2021, the accused, led by Ovchinnikov, stole a property complex of 24 objects worth more than 700 million rubles “by organizing fake auctions” during bankruptcy . Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that this criminal case involves a complex of buildings in Balashikha worth 244 million rubles.
Ovchinnikov is wanted. The remaining defendants in the case have been in custody since October this year.

It was also reported that in Russia the head of the office of the military representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Ivan Populovsky and his subordinate Grigory Zorin were detained, suspected of receiving 11 million rubles in bribes from businessmen for assistance in receiving military products.
