US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin believes that no single opportunity will change the course of the war in Ukraine – an important cumulative effect.
There is no “silver bullet,” that is, a weapon system that will change the course of events on the battlefield in Ukraine. This was stated in an article published in Foreign Affairs magazine by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
“No single capability will shut down no single system will end Putin’s attack what matters is the cumulative effect of Ukraine’s military capabilities and focus on what works,” the Pentagon chief explained his opinion .
Obviously, such statements by an American official are a kind of polemic to those who demand permission for Ukraine to strike targets with Western weapons deep in Russian territory.
He also clarified that the American authorities, contrary to many media publications, continue to advocate for the success of Ukraine, and not for its completion “through compromises.”
“For those who think that American leadership has value, consider the value of American retreat. In the face of aggression, the value of principle is always dwarfed by the value of surrender,” said said Austin.
The Pentagon chief added that Putin challenged the entire Western world with his invasion of Ukraine, and “American security requires that we resist Putin’s aggression.”
As we already wrote, the US Department of Defense announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth $425 million
Earlier, Austin said: the possible military involvement of the DPRK in Russia’s war against Ukraine could lead to new forms of support for Kyiv by Western partners.
