Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski hopes that NATO and the US will change their current positions.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski hopes that NATO and the United States will change their position and allow allied air defense forces to shoot down Russian missiles on Ukrainian territory. This was said by Polish Foreign Ministry Speaker Pavel Wronski in a commentary Ukrainianform.
Sikorsky’s personal opinion on the need for allied forces to shoot down Russian missiles flying in the direction of Poland, while still on the territory of Ukraine, is well known, the representative said.
At the same time, the official emphasized that because of this position, which he still follows today, the Polish minister was “repeatedly criticized within NATO.”
“As we know, NATO countries and the Organization itself speak negatively about these negative voices that were also heard in the United States but Minister Sikorsky hopes that this position of the allies will change,” added Vronsky.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine discussed with Poland the air protection of the Polish part of the gas storage facilities near the city of Stryi, Lviv region, but was rejected.
Let’s remember that the Polish Foreign Ministry assured that the remaining MiG-29 aircraft will be transferred to Ukraine from Poland, and at first Warsaw wanted to see a corresponding replacement from the allies.
