Poland has 14 MiG-29 fighters remaining after it transferred some of these aircraft to Ukraine.
Ukraine will receive the rest of its MiG-29 aircraft from Poland. But first, Warsaw itself must receive a suitable return from its allies. Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pavel Wronsky said this, reported Urinform on Thursday, October 31st.
He recalled that Poland has already transferred armored vehicles, artillery systems, as well as the maximum number of spare parts and components for the MiG-29 to Ukraine. At the same time, Poland itself, to a certain extent, is also under threat. And if something flies in its direction, there must be enough means to fire it.
“Poland now has 48 F-16 aircraft and has ordered another 32 F-35 aircraft, but at the moment Poland only has F-16 aircraft, which is not enough capacity to ensure complete control of the sky replace some of these MiGs, with good technical equipment, with other aircraft that will be transferred to Poland, then they can be transferred (to Ukraine, – edit.),” said the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
Wronski added that the Polish government is first of all obliged to defend the state, ensure the safety of its citizens and territory, and secondly, to help its closest allies.
“At the same time, we realize that Ukraine, while repelling the Russian attack, is also protecting us but the needs of protecting Poland are in the foreground,” said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
Note that, according to open sources, 14 MiG-29 fighters remained in Poland after it transferred some of these aircraft to Ukraine.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky said that Poland did not transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine, despite a preliminary agreement. Also, the Polish side does not shoot down Russian missiles on its own.
