In Kharkov, the SBU detained an agent of the Russian military intelligence (better known as the game), who was preparing a new series of missile and bomb attacks on the city.
The SBU press center reported this today, October 31.
It is noted that the detained 63-year-old local unemployed. She was in direct contact with a career employee of the Russian intelligence service, whose identity has already been established.
According to the investigation:
- the woman, at the direction of the game, was reconnaissance of coordinates for fire destruction of units of the Defense Forces that are involved in battles in the Kharkov direction;
- to collect intelligence, she tried to “ingratiate herself” with the Ukrainian defenders by maintaining “cordial” conversations with them;
- she also offered the military, for a nominal payment, to help with everyday issues, in particular, to clean temporary housing;
- The traitor sent the information she received to her Russian curator in the form of screenshots with marks of potential targets on Google maps.
SBU counterintelligence officers exposed the agent in advance and, after documenting her criminal actions, detained her “on the spot” when she was conducting additional reconnaissance near a military facility, the SBU noted. — The detainee’s mobile phone, which she used to communicate with the Russian game, was confiscated.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).
The attacker is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property, the SBU said.
