The Japanese government handed over a new mine clearance vehicle to Ukrainian rescuers (PHOTO)

    Zaporozhye rescuers received modern equipment for mine clearance from the Japanese government.

    The press service of the State Emergency Service reported this today, October 30.

    The latest Nikken mechanized demining machine, created on the basis of the Hitachi ZX160 excavator, has already been tested in real conditions, where pyrotechnicians successfully worked out its functions, the report says.

    It is noted that:

    • this 16-ton vehicle is equipped with 31 “teeth”, capable of destroying mines at a depth of up to 30 cm; excavator type allows you to clear up to 800 square meters of mines. m per hour;
    • The armored cabin protects the sappers while working.

    “Thank you to the Government of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Nikken company for their support and strengthening of our pyrotechnicians, who clear every piece of Ukrainian land from explosive objects,” the State Emergency Service noted.
