Actors who brought Jake Ryan and Jackson Stewart to life answered what they think about the possibility of a reboot or spin-off of ‘Hannah Montana’
With films and a TV series, “Hannah Montana” aired from 2006 to 2011 on the Disney Channel, and has been missing among fans ever since! Therefore, at the premiere of the sequel to “Wizards of Waverly Place”, in Los Angeles, on October 28, The Hollywood Reporter asked some of the cast about the possibility of returning to the series through a reboot or a spin- off.
One of those who answered the question was Cody Linleywho played Jake Ryan, the love interest of Hannah, a character in Miley Cyrus. At the time he said:
I’m in, yes, I think there is a world where there could be a reboot of Miley, Jake and the entire cast of Hannah Montana. I think it would be amazing, I remember those times as good memories.
He then stated that for the idea to come to life on screen, something is necessary: ”Just ask the same question to some of the Disney executives who show up and let’s see what happens.”
Also to THR, Jason Earleswho played Jackson Stewart, the older brother of Miley in the series, he did not rule out the idea, in addition to stating that at some point it could actually happen.
I wouldn’t say no, I think there are some ideas floating around that are good. When the time is right, maybe something will happen.”
He told Deadline that he suggested a reinterpretation of “Hannah Montana”, but “didn’t think it was the right time”.
The sequel to “Wizards of Waverly Place”, titled “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place”, promises to follow Justin, the eldest son of the Russos. In the plot, he leads an ordinary life with his wife and children, until an unexpected visit brings him back into contact with magic. The series is scheduled to premiere on December 4, 2024 in Brazil.
