So the Russian authorities responded by expelling 70 Russian diplomats from Bulgaria, who were accused of working for special services.
The Russian embassy in Sofia has stopped issuing tourist visas to Bulgarian citizens. This was reported by Bulgarian National Radio.
It was noted that this step would significantly limit the ability of Bulgarian citizens to travel to Russia, because now the Russian Embassy issues visas only to the closest relatives of Russians.
At the same time, there is no information on the website of the Russian Embassy in Bulgaria about stopping the issuance of tourist visas.
Trips to Russia are conducted using tourist, humanitarian, business, study or work visas.
It will be recalled that on June 28, Bulgaria decided to expel 70 employees of the Russian embassy from the country, which it accused of working for special services.
In response, Russia threatened to sever diplomatic relations with Bulgaria. Moscow demanded that Sofia cancel the decision to declare dozens of diplomats persona non grata. But Bulgaria still expelled the Russians.
