Entry into the Russian Federation on an indefinite basis is also closed to representatives of the military-industrial complex, journalists and public figures.
Russia has indefinitely barred entry to 131 Australian citizens and nine New Zealand citizens. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, October 29.
“In response to political sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities by the Australian government, introduced as part of the Russophobic campaign of the “collective West”, entry into the Russian Federation without specific grounds was closed in additional 131 Australians from representatives of the military-industrial complex, journalists and public figures shaping the anti-Russian agenda in this country,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It was noted that “taking into account the fact that official Canberra does not want to abandon its anti-Russian course and continues to introduce new sanctions measures, the task of updating the “stop list” of Russia will continue.”
The list of Australians’ names is published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that entry into the Russian Federation on an indefinite basis was closed to nine additional New Zealanders from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of New Zealand, who constitute an “anti-Russian agenda” in this country.
There is also a list of names of New Zealand citizens included in Russia’s “stop list”.
The ruling regime of the Russian Federation has promised to further expand its “stop list”.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published “personal sanctions” against US citizens.
