In 10 months of this year, 1.6 million drones of various types have been contracted for the military. With this amount, suppliers have already completed orders for 1.28 million UAVs.
For 2024-2025, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Development have already contracted 1.8 million drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 147 billion hryvnias. The military department announced this on Tuesday, October 29.
So, in 10 months of this year, 1.6 million drones of various types have already been contracted for a total cost of more than 114 billion Hryvnias. With this amount, suppliers have already completed an order for 1.28 million UAVs worth more than 81 billion hryvnias. At the same time, the delivery of about 367 thousand more drones is planned by the end of the year.
Delivered drones include a wide range of models that perform various tasks on the battlefield. We are talking about deep strike drones (Deepstrike-kamikaze), FPV-kamikaze, reconnaissance copters like the DJI Mavic, reconnaissance aircraft and wing drones, as well as attack copters and aircraft, the report says.
At the same time, more than 155 thousand UAVs have already been contracted for 2025 at the cost of 32.33 billion hryvnias.
It is said that contracting in this area is carried out separately by other parts of the Defense Forces – the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the National Guard and the SBU. Also, the purchase of drones is carried out directly by military units and volunteers.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced that the plan for the production of drones had been exceeded. During the nine months of this year, 140 unmanned aerial systems and 33 ground-based robotic systems of domestic production were approved for operation.
