At least 60 people have been killed in an Israeli strike in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley. This was announced by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the BBC reported on Tuesday, October 29.
It was noted that two children were among those killed in the strikes in 16 districts of the Baalbek region.
The agency said 58 people were injured, adding that rescue efforts were still ongoing in the valley, which is a Hezbollah outpost.
Over the past five weeks, Israel has conducted thousands of airstrikes across Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah fighters, infrastructure and weapons.
Baalbek Governor Bachi Khodr called the strikes “the most brutal” in the region since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated last month.
Let’s remember that on the night of October 4, Israel launched eleven strikes on the southern part of the Hezbollah group in Beirut, targeting the chairman of the group’s executive council, Hashem Safidin.
