The Budget Committee approved the first reading of the Draft Budget for 2025.
Deputies propose that the government allocate 43.2 billion hryvnia of the road fund for the country’s defense needs. At least two billion hryvnia will be spent on mine clearance, and 4.8 billion will be spent on new passenger cars.
There was also an amendment to cancel the national cashback. At the same time, they decided to leave the increase in prosecutors’ salaries by 37% (almost 3 billion hryvnia).
People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted that amendments from people’s deputies Vladimir Tsabal and Nina Yuzhanina not to increase prosecutors’ salaries by 3 billion will not be accepted. These changes were taken into account and recommended by the working group.
Deputies from the relevant committee, First Deputy Prosecutor General Alexey Khomenko, as well as the chairmen of the Council of Prosecutors insisted on increasing the salaries of prosecutors.
Thus, the Committee agreed to increase the salaries of prosecutors in the budget in 2025. 14 committee members voted in favor, four abstained, and one was against.
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina noted that they will be increased by 25% compared to the current year.
The Cabinet of Ministers should consider the draft with amendments this week.
