It is noted that the current ruling party Fatherland Union – Christian Democrats of Lithuania, conservatives received 28 mandates. The populist party Dawn Nemanus, led by Remigijus Zemaitaitis, who was previously expelled from the current parliament, won 20 seats.
In fourth place in terms of the number of mandates received is the Union of Democrats For the Name of Lithuania, headed by former Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis (14 mandates).
The Liberal movement, led by the speaker of the current Seimas, Victoria Cmilyte-Nielsen, according to preliminary data, will have 12 mandates.
The Union of Peasants and Greens of Lithuania will have eight mandates, the Electoral Action of Lithuanian Poles – the Union of Christian Families will have three mandates. Self-nominated candidates Vitaly Shershnev and Viktor Fedorov won two more seats.
According to the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, Vilija Blinkeviciute, he will take responsibility for the formation of a new ruling majority, however, whether he will lead the Cabinet of Ministers is unknown.
The leader of the Fatherland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has announced that he will leave the position of the leader of the conservatives after the Seimas elections. He made this decision after losing his constituency.
