Almost 64 million tons of grain and oilseeds were threshed in Ukraine

In terms of gross grain harvest, the leaders are Odessa region – 4.4 million tons, Poltava region – 4 million tons and Vinnitsa region – 3.3 million tons. In terms of yield, Khmelnitsky region is ahead with an indicator of 68.3 c/ha, Bukovina – 64.9 c/ha and Chernihiv region – 63.5 c/ha.

In Ukraine, almost 63.7 million tons of new grain and oilseed crops were threshed, collected in an area of ​​18.1 million hectares. A total of 45.1 million tons of grain and 18.6 million tons of oilseeds were harvested. The press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports about it.

In particular:

  • wheat – 4.9 million hectares threshed (or 100%), 22.3 million tons threshed;

  • barley – 1.4 million hectares threshed (or 100%), 5.5 million tons threshed;

  • peas – 212.2 thousand hectares (or 100%) were threshed, 465.3 thousand tons were threshed;

  • corn – 2.7 million hectares (or 67%) threshed, 15.4 million tons threshed;

  • millet – 85.1 thousand hectares (or 92%) were threshed, 159.5 thousand tons were threshed;

  • buckwheat – 87.5 thousand hectares (or 98%) were threshed, 126.9 thousand tons were threshed;

  • sunflower – 4.6 million hectares (or 94%) were threshed, 9.5 million tons of seeds were threshed;

  • soybeans – 2.5 million hectares (or 93%) were threshed, 5.6 million tons of seeds were threshed;

  • rapeseed – 1.3 million hectares (or 100%) were threshed, 3.5 million tons of seeds were threshed.

While farmers from 15 regions are harvesting sugar beets. Sugar beets were dug in an area of ​​170.6 thousand hectares (or 66%), 8.3 million tons of sweet roots were collected.

At the same time, the leading agricultural producers in gross grain harvest are the Odessa region – 4.4 million tons, the Poltava region – 4 million tons and the Vinnitsa region – 3.3 million tons. In terms of productivity, the farmers of Khmelnytsky region lead with an indicator of 68.3 c/ha, Bukovyna – 64.9 c/ha and Chernihiv region – 63.5 c/ha.

It was previously reported that farmers are predicting lower yields due to a dry May. After some time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy improved the forecast for the grain harvest. The forecast describes a grain harvest of about 56 million tons. Of these, wheat – 21 million tons.
