The Ukrainian Armed Forces received another 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from the German company Rheinmetall.
Delivery of these infantry fighting vehicles will take place at the end of the third quarter of 2024. In total, the concern provided the Ukrainian army with almost 200 such armored vehicles. Of these, more than a hundred are Marder 1A3 models. The company’s press service reported this.
The Ring Exchange Agreement also provides for the supply of double-digit quantities of other equipment – Marder infantry fighting vehicles and Leopard main battle tanks. The latest batch of 20 Marders provided to Ukraine was ordered by the German government and financed in the mid-double digits of millions of euros.
It is noted that the infantry fighting vehicles being transferred to the Defense Forces are model 1A3, which is equipped with a modern laser rangefinder. This device allows you to increase the accuracy of hitting targets on the battlefield and gives you a technological advantage over the Russians.
Rheinmetall first received orders for the supply of these Marders back in March 2023 and already then delivered 20 units to Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the German Ministry of Defense stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use German weapons at their own discretion, because “from the moment of their transfer they become the property of Ukraine.” And international law provides for the possibility of conducting military operations on the territory of an aggressor country to protect one’s own state.
