Elon Musk, an American billionaire, has been in close contact with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin since late 2022.
The war criminal and founder of SpaceX and Tesla speaks on personal topics about business and geopolitical tensions. However, these contacts are causing concern among some members of US President Joe Biden’s administration because Musk has access to certain classified information. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing several current and former officials in the United States, Europe and Russia.
It is noted that information about Musk’s contacts with Putin is a closely guarded secret. Several Washington officials said they were unaware of them.
The publication also writes that after 2022, the billionaire communicated with several high-ranking Russian officials, including the head of Putin’s administration, Sergei Kiriyenko. It is not yet known what the conversation was about.
WSJ writes that Elon Musk has made statements of support for Ukraine more than once. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, he has donated several hundred Starlink terminals to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
However, apparently, his views on the war have already changed. Previously, Ukraine was unable to use Starlink to attack the Russian fleet. It was prohibited to use the terminals in offensive operations of the Defense Forces.
The article says that Musk’s actions coincided with public and private pressure from the Kremlin.
Let us recall that The Washington Post reported that in 2022, Elon Musk bought Twitter for more than $44 billion, with the help of banks, financial institutions and funds. The sons of sanctioned Russian oligarchs Pyotr Aven and Vadim Moshkovich work in one of these funds.
