The father and son allegedly participated in the operation of the SBU and were supposed to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia and Belarus.

The Gomel Regional Court of Belarus sentenced two Ukrainians – father and son – to 20 years in prison for alleged sabotage and intelligence activities. This was reported by the Belarusian state agency Belta on Wednesday, October 23.

It was noted that the men were detained near the border with Ukraine in mid-February this year. They are said to be carrying explosives.

“This sabotage and reconnaissance group included citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and their accomplices and other means of destruction were found in their possession among the detainees were Ukrainian citizens, father and son Sergei and Pavel Kabarchuk,” the message said.

The Belarusian KGB states that the explosive devices were allegedly intended to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia and Belarus, and the transfer of a sabotage and reconnaissance group to Belarus across the border was organized by the Security Service of Ukraine.

All court sessions were held behind closed doors. On October 23, the Gomel Regional Court announced the verdict on the men. The father and son were found guilty on all charges. Finally, each of the defendants was sentenced to 20 years in prison to be served in a correctional colony under a high security regime, as well as a 700 BV fine.

We remind you that in July in Belarus a German was sentenced to death on charges of “terrorism”. The man was a military doctor for the German Red Cross.

In Belarus, a Ukrainian was sentenced in absentia to 25 years for blowing up an A-50 aircraft.
