The graduation ceremony for the next batch of trained pilots was attended by ex-commander-in-chief and now ambassador Valery Zaluzhny.
The third batch of Ukrainian Air Force pilots completed training in the UK. This was announced on Tuesday, October 22, by the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and now Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valery Zaluzhny.
He said the graduation ceremony took place at RAF Cranwell and he attended.
“Once again I want to thank the British government and people for their continued support to Ukraine. It is thanks to this support that we continue to fight. Thanks to Great Britain, we have a chance for Victory,” Zalezhny wrote.
He expressed hope that the pilots were well prepared and “the instructors did not disappoint.”
The ambassador added that “soon these people will go to battle.”
Zaluzhny did not name the number of pilots in the group, but in the photo with him are eight military men with blurred faces.
It was previously reported that British Royal Air Force instructors were training Ukrainian pilots, preparing them to fly F-16 fighter jets. Pilots receive basic flight training, including aircraft handling and navigation, as well as English language training for further F-16 training in other NATO countries.
The graduation of the first pilots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who trained on the F-16 in Britain took place in March of this year. After that, they moved on to the next stage of preparation in France.
