The president of Russia does not trust his generals and makes it safe by appointing duplicate officials.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed two commanders simultaneously responsible for the Lisichansk attack, which may indicate he has lost confidence in his generals. This was announced on Monday, July 4, by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It was noted that the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel General Alexander Lapin and the commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Army General Sergei Suvorikin, were responsible for the capture of Lisichansk and the area to its west.
“The participation of two such high-ranking officials in the same operation in a small frontal sector is remarkable and perhaps indicates the importance attached by Russian President Vladimir Putin to ensuring the security of Lysichansk and the border of the Luhansk region, as well as his lack of confidence in younger officials for carrying out this work, “the experts said.
Also, ISW experts predicted the plans of the Russian Federation after the capture of Lisichansk. Two directions are named.
Recall, on the eve it was reported that the Ukrainian military had left Lisichansk. The enemy occupation forces significantly exceeded the Ukrainian forces in Lysichansk, so it was decided to retreat.
