Paris is open to Ukraine’s invitation to join NATO and also supports Zelensky’s Victory Plan.
France is open to the idea of inviting Ukraine to NATO. This is what French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said during a visit to Kyiv on Saturday, October 19, Reuters reports.
According to him, negotiations will continue with the allies on the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
“Regarding inviting Ukraine to join NATO, we are open to it, and this is an issue we are discussing with our partners,” Barro said.
He also added that he supports the Victory Plan proposed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Earlier, the French publication Le Monde, citing sources, wrote that the United States no longer opposes Ukraine joining NATO, which may mean that Germany has also changed its position on this issue.
Barro also said that Ukraine will receive Mirage 2000 aircraft from France in the coming months.
