Since the registry launched in June 2023, more than 141,000 users have logged into the Citizen’s Single Window, of which nearly 50,000 are gun owners.
Ukrainians submitted 485,798 applications for various types of weapons permits. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Friday, October 18.
It is noted that based on the results of processing applications, law enforcement officers have already made more than 461 thousand decisions to issue appropriate permits.
“In general, since the launch of the register in June 2023, more than 141,000 users have logged into the Citizen’s Single Window, of which almost 50,000 are weapon owners,” added the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Earlier, the Minister of the Interior Igor Klimenko said that now Ukrainian citizens may have one to five million weapons in their hands. In addition, according to him, Ukrainians also have a lot of grenades.
In June 2023, the Unified Register of Weapons was launched in Ukraine. Thanks to this registry, Ukrainians get an easier permission to buy weapons, without having to visit the police, by submitting documents through the “Single Citizen Window” or at a weapons store.
It was previously reported that civilians will receive legal guarantees to legally store weapons found during martial law.
It was also reported that in Zaporozhye, an education security officer discovered a bag of ammunition of various modifications near an educational institution.
